Want to learn to dive quickly?

This is an entry level certification which gets you diving quickly in 2 ½ days.
It allows you to start diving only under the direct supervision of a PADI Divemaster or Instructor. Please be aware that this can restrict your diving experiences. Silent Bubbles strongly advise that you take the full PADI Open Water Diver Course, which would allow you to dive with any other diver at the same level of higher.

Who can take this course?
Yes you can!
If you are aged 10 or above,
Float or tread water for 10 minutes.
You need to be in good health, reasonably fit and be comfortable in the water.
We’ll give you a simple medical form to fill in and if any questions are raised, your doctor will need to stamp the form to say it’s OK to dive. Don’t let this put you off as it is actually quite rare that anyone gets turned down because of this. Some people can dive with Cochlear Implants, depending on the type of CI used. Your doctor will know best!

How long is the course?
Just two and half fun-filled days with Silent Bubbles. There’s also some homework to do before the course. The reading materials are so good that you won’t mind doing this! Don’t worry, it’s not like school!
What's involved?

Read the Open Water Diver manual at home and complete all Knowledge Reviews.
Complete the mini-quizzes 1, 2, and 3 from the manual.
Watch the course DVD and undergo some short knowledge development (theory) sessions with a Silent Bubbles PADI Instructor.
Complete Confined water pool training sessions 1, 2 and 3.
Successfully complete Open Water qualifying dives 1 and 2 with flexible skills.
Please note that students aged 10-14 will qualify as Junior Scuba Divers and be limited to a 12m depth. This can be upgraded to full Scuba Diver at age 15 without taking additional training.

How much will it cost?
Silent Bubbles charge a very competitive £250 which includes free use of all the necessary diving equipment, pool entry fees, an official PADI Open Water Diver ‘crew pack’ which is a waterproof blue zip folder containing your student manual, dive log book, RDP-recreational dive planner (and instruction booklet), PADI sticker and finally a PIC Diver qualification card on completion of the course.

Are there any extra costs?
If you wish to view the DVD at home, a deposit of £25 is required (refundable).
Please bring some money for lake entry fees. Contact Silent Bubbles for details of this.
