The PADI Open Water Diver course is the world’s most popular diving course.

The majority of divers worldwide started their scuba training with this course. Upon completion of this course you will be qualified to dive with any other diver at the same qualification level or above.

This certification allows you to dive almost anywhere in the world at a maximum depth of 18 metres (60 feet). This depth is sufficient for most dive sites all around the world. There is no need to go VERY deep to get the best out of diving! WARNING: Diving is so much fun and very addictive and Silent Bubbles guarantee that it will change your life forever!

Can I take this course?
Yes you can! If you are aged 10 or above,You can swim 200 metres or You can swim 300 metres with a mask, snorkel and fins,Float or tread water for 10 minutes. You need to be in good health, reasonably fit and be comfortable in the water. We’ll give you a simple medical form to fill in and if any questions are raised, your doctor will need to stamp the form to say it’s OK to dive. Don’t let this put you off as it is actually quite rare that anyone gets turned down because of this. Some people can dive with Cochlear Implants, depending on the type of CI used. Your doctor will know best!

How long is the course? It only takes a few evenings or mornings! Also some homework before the course. The reading materials are so interesting that you will be happy to do this! It is not like school!

Normally we just let you do the home study yourself, but if you wish to have a tutor to “teach” you the whole course in a classroom setting as well – we can do this at our classroom in the Docklands on a Tuesday evening.
