Nick Bray
Nick started diving in 1985 when his father encouraged him to join a scuba club with his brother and cousin. 24 years later his family now has 6 active divers with four more about to start learning to dive!
Diving with his family was and still is great fun but it really opened his eyes when he first went diving with a fellow deaf diver and he enjoyed being able to communicate underwater fluently. He began to dream of setting up a dive school to enable more deaf people to start diving. He passed his instructor exams with In-Depth Instruction in Phuket, Thailand who encouraged him to make his dream a reality.
He returned to the UK and formed Silent Bubbles with other deaf instructors.
Nick also instructs hearing divers under his main business www.superscuba.com and he likes to dive with his fiancé when not instructing.
He has dived Mexico, Florida, Bahamas, Scotland, England, Ireland, Canary Islands, Cuba, Jamaica, Thailand and South Africa.
Nick’s time outside scuba diving is taken up by renovating his house, with a feeling that he has bitten off more than he can chew! His favourite comment is “I’ve learnt something new today”.
Tom Mulloy
Tom started diving in 2003 whilst on a conservation project in Fiji. He passed his Instructor exams in Thailand. To date he has dived the UK, Irish Sea, Spain, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia and the Red Sea.
Tom loves introducing deaf students to scuba diving and following their progress through the many PADI courses. He started certifying divers in his native Ireland and is now actively instructing with Silent Bubbles in South London.
He loves wreck diving but is equally happy in all waters. He is curious about technical diving and is hoping to find the time soon to take a course and see if it’s to his liking!
Tom is also a Sea Signs instructor. Sea Signs is a PADI sanctioned sign language course for hearing divers to enable them to have broader underwater communication skills.
Tom created www.deafdivers.co.uk as a diving and social club a few years ago and Silent Bubbles works well with with the club to provide scuba instruction for its members.
His hobbies outside Diving include playing poker for fun, swimming, soccer, tennis, and world travel. His usual comment is “the possibilities are endless!”
Ali El Azaizi (aka Ali Baba)
Much has been written about Ali. He is renowned in the Egyptian Red Sea, earning his reputation as one of the most experienced Diving Instructors in the Region. As well as PADI courses he also teaches TDI, DSAT and DAN courses in the Red Sea. When not instructing he likes to join expeditions to discover new shipwrecks, and has been accredited with helping to find the famous Rosalie Moller shipwreck.
Recently he took a sabbatical from the Red Sea to come to the UK to join efforts to create Silent Bubbles. Much of his time was spent working with dive holiday operators to build up competively priced ‘Dive Safari’ holidays, which include scuba courses. Ali takes the greatest pleasure in showing newcomers the hidden magic of the Red Sea.
His hobbies outside diving is…..…..and his favourite comment is “That’s what it’s all about”.
Ali also instructs hearing people with www.alibabedivemagic.com
